Meeting Minutes 10/18/2011: NJ Wildcats
A1: Mission Statement:
· Player development is first and foremost
· Provide youth players every opportunity to develop to potential
· Develop State, Regional, and National ODP players
A2: Developmental Pyramid:
· Soccer is not about age but about levels
· Environment: recommends players training with older teams to increase skill level; play up/practice up
· Practice and Play across all levels
· Keep challenging players
A3: State of the Club, # of teams, College Commitments:
· U9 through U18, U20, U23, and W League team
· 11 teams in club presently - looking to add on 12th team (u16 club team coming in spring 2012)
· U17 team - 8 players committed to Division 1 schools
· 12-14 players committed overall
· NJ Wildcats is an affiliate of Sky Blue providing further opportunity for players
· ASL: NJ Wildcats is a provisional member this year
· ASL: Critical we get maximum participation for events
· ASL: Every indication is that we will become a full time member moving forward
· ASL: Average 150-300 college coaches at every event last year
· In process of changing everything over to Wildcats from OLSA (Wildcats ranked 4th in the world in 2005)
A4: Parent/Player Expectations:
· Communication
1. Parent Communications Committee - Headed up by Daryl and Melissa
2. Set Expectations early
3. Don explained the progressive program at each level: low-mid-high and the importance of setting expectations at each level.
4. NJ Wildcats run by the Organization not by the Parents.
5. Parents do not rule the roost
A5: Playing Time:
· Players to earn playing time
· Players who work hard, put the time in will get the benefit of playing time
· About getting the players to the next level and competing on a state, regional, and national level
· Communicating with parents to inform them of expectations

· OLSA website is changing to NJ Wildcats
· NJ Wildcats website gets 3 million hits per year - worldwide known
· OLSA website which gets 50,000 hits per year will automatically be directed to NJ Wildcats site

A9: December Wildcats Tournament:
· Looking for a total of 36 teams to participate
· $400- for younger teams and $695- for older teams
· Need a volunteer representative from each team to send out emails regarding December tournament to clubs around the state.
· Time allocation of approximately 1 hour per week per team
· One of the easiest ways to raise monies to fund organization is through club sponsored tournaments
A10: Cocktail Party:
· Cocktail party will be in February at Charlies Grill in Long Branch (open bar expected!)
· Cost is expected to be between 75-85 dollars per person
· 100 person target with 40 people already committed

· Thank you to the Coaches for all the hard work put in .
· Thank you to Dan George for helping facilitate great relationship with Long Branch
· Hank Davis and Jim Thoresen explained the importance of Wildcats franchise with relationships in college recruitment process.
· Tommy Boykins is getting certified for Speed and Agility Training, ACL/Injury Prevention.
· New Practice Attire: Wildcats practice jersey, Black Shorts and Black Socks
· Josie Fedak is the Administrator for the Academy.
· Volunteer work within the academy is needed.
· Women’s soccer is number 1 growing sport in country.
· Future is bright and we are in a good spot!
